Bensalem Twp. Mayor Appoints New Twp. Director Of Public Safety
Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo appointed William McVey of the Bensalem Police Department to the new position.

BENSALEM, PA — Bensalem Township Mayor Joseph DiGirolamo has appointed a new Township Director of Public Safety.
William McVey, a member of the Bensalem Police Department since 1998, was appointed to the position. As the Public Safety Director, McVey will be "responsible for the management and operation of the Police Department and Bensalem Fire Rescue, and for the coordination of Township Volunteer Fire Companies and Emergency Medical Services," according to the police department's CrimeWatch website.
During his 24 year career in the police department, McVey has served as Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, K-9 Officer, Sergeant (Patrol and Criminal Investigations) Lieutenant, and Deputy Director. He has also served as the Department’s Public Information Officer.

Along with his long career in the department and his new position, McVey also serves as the 3rd Vice President of the Chiefs of Police Association of Southeastern Pennsylvanian, and is the President of the Bucks County Hero Scholarship Fund.
He has also been the recipient of the 2017 Emerging Leaders for Bucks and Eastern Montgomery Counties by the Bucks County Courier Times and the Intelligencer.
