Body Of Woman Found In Neshaminy State Park

A large portion of the park was closed as authorities began their investigation into the death.

BENSALEM, PA — The body of a woman was discovered in Neshaminy State Park on Saturday, Jan. 8.

Police say a visitor to the park discovered the nude body while walking through a wooded area of the park, located in Bensalem. The visitor made the discovery around 10 a.m.

After the body was discovered, police closed a large portion of the park in order to thoroughly investigate the cause of death, which has not been made public as of yet.

The body is described as that of a black female between the ages of 40 and 50. A tattoo with the name 'Lisa' was seen on her upper right arm.

Investigators and a forensics team were called to the scene to determine how long the body had been there for. No details or discoveries on this have been made public yet. The county coroner will be conducting an autopsy in the near future.

The state park was reopened on Sunday.
