Chamber Names New Chairman
Mark Connelly, of Dow Chemical Company, begins his chairmanship in Lower Bucks on July 1.

Mark Connelly officially begins his term as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for 2011-2012 for the Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce on July 1.
As the organization's volunteer leader, the chairman presides over the board and its executive committee, appoints committee chairs and along with the president, serves as the “official” spokesperson. Connelly will serve a one-year term and succeeds Bob Caruso (Sesame Place) in this capacity.
Connelly’s involvement with the chamber continues the long-standing relationship between The Dow Chemical Company (formerly Rohm and Haas) and LBCCC. Serving on the Board since 2006 and the executive committee the past two years, Connelly is a graduate of the Leadership Bucks County program and is also active on the Technology, Energy & Building Committee.

Connelly’s role with Dow focuses on two primary areas. The first is to develop opportunities for the Bristol site by generating income from the sale of underutilized property, reducing infrastructure costs, and revitalizing former industrial areas while preserving natural resources, river access and open space. The second is managing existing leases and shared infrastructure service agreements with the many non-Dow company’s which share the 800 acre Bristol site.
In addition to the Chamber, Connelly serves on Bucks County Community College’s Green Jobs Academy Advisory Board. He also chairs the Youth Council for the Bucks County Workforce Investment Board in addition to holding a seat on the board.
