Chik-Fil-A Near Neshaminy Mall OK'd For Expansions
Bensalem Council voted in favor of planned expansions, including a two-lane drive-thru, two additional serving canopies, and more.

BENSALEM, PA — The Bensalem Council recently voted in favor of several expansion plans for the Chik-fil-A near Neshaminy Mall.
The updated plans include a two-lane drive-thru, a 390-square-foot addition to the rear of the property to the kitchen, two additional serving canopies, and other expansions for the busy food spot.
These developments and expansions would help the business as well as the mall, as the fast-food location is a popular spot for shoppers.

"We appeared in front of the zoning hearing board a little less than a year ago to receive a couple variances relating to this project, which is essentially the installation of canopies and taking the one lane that's currently at the Chick-Fil-A and expanding it so that it's a two-lane concept," Chik-Fil-A representative Michael Meginniss said before the council.
"Because of the addition of the second lane, we had to reconfigure the parking layout at the present location, so even though we aren't losing any parking spaces, there is going to be the addition of parking to the rear of the site, which necessitated one of our waivers."

The Council and Chick-Fil-A representative reached a compromise on the issue of building an ADA-compliant sidewalk along Horizon Boulevard. As part of the compromise, the developer would contribute to the cost of building the sidewalk.
Meginniss said Chick-Fil-A is "trying to be proactive, both in the township and at other locations throughout" Bucks County. An expansion such as this would bring in more customers while reducing traffic in the already busy mall area.
