Congressman Presents Award to Langhorne Resident
Kathryn Webster honored for volunteerism during Capitol ceremony.

Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick (R-8th) Thursday presented Kathryn Webster of Langhorne, Pennsylvania, with the Gold Congressional Award honoring her extraordinary level of volunteerism in our community.
According to a release, the Congressional Award, created by legislation in 1979, is presented on a non-partisan and voluntary basis to youths ages 13 to 24 in four separate categories: voluntary public service, personal development, personal fitness, and exploration. There are various award levels in each of these categories with the Gold Congressional Award being the highest.
“I am happy to recognize the achievements of a local constituent like Kathryn who has truly made her community a better place to live,” said Fitzpatrick. “Kathryn has also set an example for young and old alike, to give back and help others.

In order to achieve the Gold Award in public service, Kathryn volunteered at her local Salvation Army as well as at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Langhorne. Additionally, she taught teens about public speaking, and learned sign language to assist local deaf residents.
