COVID-19 Vaccine Rates Trend Upward In Bucks Co.; Cases Do Too, Health Dept. Says
Bucks County remains an area of high transmission, but data from this past week shows that more people are choosing to get vaccinated.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Both vaccination rates and new cases of COVID-19 trended upward last week, according to data from the Bucks County Health Department.
The county’s seven-day average as of Sunday was 152 new cases per day, the highest average since the end of August. The previous week’s seven-day average was 133 new cases per day.
Between Sep. 20 and Sep. 24, at least 89 children 12 and under tested positive for COVID-19, while 77 cases were among those aged 12-18, the county health department said.

At least 61 patients were being treated for COVID-19 in Bucks County hospitals as of Monday. Eleven adults were in the intensive care unit, and two were on ventilators.
Vaccination numbers continue to climb, with 4,162 more residents receiving at least one jab last week. Nearly 332,498 county residents were fully vaccinated as of Monday, or 60 percent of the 12 and older eligible population. About 68 percent of that population is partially vaccinated.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Bucks County on Monday was still an area of “high” COVID-19 transmission.
