A&E Crime Series Features Ex-Bensalem Battalion Chief

The series "Murder at the Motel" features a crime at the Lincoln Motel that took place in May 2016.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — Bensalem shows up on the second episode of the A&E series "Murder at the Motel."

The township's former Battalion Chief Rob Sponheimer made an appearance on the show during the episode about a month ago.

Bensalem first responders were called to the Lincoln Inn Motel, where a room was found fully engulfed in flames. As crews worked to knock down the fire, they made a devastating discovery — a body burned beyond recognition in the debris.

"What first appeared to be a tragic accident quickly turned into something far more sinister as investigators uncovered critical evidence," Bensalem Fire Rescue said in a Facebook post. "Our commitment to public safety never wavers, and we remain dedicated to protecting our community every day."
