Driver Charged with Assault After Striking Pedestrian

Police say a Bensalem woman was driving recklessly when she struck a woman with her car Wednesday afternoon. The victim is in critical condition.

A Bensalem woman has been arrested after police say she struck another woman with her car as she was walking across Carter Road Wednesday afternoon.

Anum Raza, 24, has been charged with aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person. Police say allege that Raza drove her car, a Honda Odyssey, in an intentional and reckless manner that directly caused the victim to be struck.

According to a press release from the Bensalem Police Department, the victim is in critical condition at Aria Torresdale Hospital.

Raza was arraigned before District Judge Robert Wagner Thursday evening and sent to Bucks County Correctional Facility in lieu of 10 percent of $250,000 bail.
