DUI Driver Gets Prison For Crash That Killed Bensalem Man

He was sentenced Monday for the June 2, 2018 crash on Lincoln Highway.

BENSALEM, PA — A Lower Makefield man could spend more than a decade in prison for driving drunk when he caused the crash that killed a Bensalem man.

Charles Edward Fisher, 25, was sentenced Monday to four years and five months to 11 years and six months in state prison, according to the Bucks County District Attorney's office.

Fisher was driving drunk on June 2, 2018, when he crashed his Ford Escape into a Mercury Mariner being driven by Michael Carlino, 65, of Bensalem. The crash happened on the 200 block of Lincoln Highway in Falls Township.

In August, Fisher pleaded guilty to homicide by vehicle while DUI, which is a felony, and other misdemeanor charges.

Police in the case said Fisher had been drinking all day before the 8 p.m. crash. He had a blood alcohol content of .10 at the time of the crash, according to police.
