Farmers Market Vouchers Made Available To Bucks Co. Seniors

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Bucks County Area Agency on Aging (BCAAA) has partnered with the state Department of Agriculture to help stock seniors’ pantries with fresh produce from local farmers markets.

Through this initiative, eligible seniors can receive vouchers valued at $24 per eligible recipient through the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP), according to a statement from the Bucks County governemnt's website.

Vouchers are available through Sept. 30, or while supplies last, and can be used to purchase fruits and vegetables at participating farmers markets.

To be eligible, qualifying seniors must reside in Bucks County, be 60 or older by the end of the year, and meet annual income requirements. Income includes wages, rental income, Social Security, child support payments, retirement plan distributions, and other forms of income.

The program’s 2022 household income eligibility is:

• 1 person - $25,142
• 2 people - $33,874
• 3 people - $42,606
• 4 people $51,338
• 5 people $60,070
• 6 people $68,802
