Man Held On $1M Bail For Soliciting Sex With Bensalem Girl: PD

Bensalem Police charged the 34-year-old man Friday after he started sexual conversations with a 13-year-old girl last month.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —A Philadelphia man has been charged with soliciting sex from a 13-year-old girl, police said.

Bensalem Police charged Ian Evans, 34, of Philadelphia, with numerous sex offenses after he started chatting on social media with the girl on March 4.

He was charged with Sexual Abuse of Children, Unlawful Contact with a Minor, Corruption of Minors, and Criminal Use of a Communication Facility.

Evans was arraigned by District Justice Michael Gallagher and held at the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $1 million bail.

Bensalem Police said text messages were exchanged, and within a day, Evans began messaging about sexual acts and asked the juvenile to get naked while he did so.

He then texted sexually explicit photographs of himself, police said.

Evans stated his intentions to meet up with the 13-year-old so that she could perform specific sexual acts with her.

The conversations continued for weeks as he continued to send photographs and videos of himself masturbating as well as other pornographic videos that depicted what he wanted to do with her. He also continued to ask for naked pictures of the 13-year-old female, police said.

Once he agreed to meet the juvenile for a sexual encounter in the woods behind his workplace in Bensalem, Bensalem Police obtained a warrant for his arrest.

No child was ever in danger during this investigation, police said.

At 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Bensalem Police arrested Evans as he left his place of work.
