Math Students Celebrate Pi Day
They wore Pi T-shirts and lined up in a human Pi chain at the high school

The distance around the outside of a circle (circumference) is a little more than three times the distance straight across the circle (diameter).
That relationship is represented by Pi, not cherry, apple or pumkin pie, but the Greek letter, π.
In mathematics, the number 3.14 is commonly used for Pi,  however it can go on forever as in 3.1415926535…

In honor of this important number, mathematics teachers, Miss Michelle Barbetta and Mrs. Susan Cantwell held a Pi Day celebration yesterday, March 14.

One of Miss Barbetta's honors math students designed a t-shirt and on the back of the t-shirt are the numbers representing the irrational number that is Pi.
Miss Barbetta and Mrs. Cantwell’s students lined up in front of the high school, 4319 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, on Monday, March 14 and created Pi in a human chain to as many decimal places as they have students in their two classes.
