New COVID-19 Cases Down By Thin Margin In Bucks County

In the latest update from the county health department, 84 people were in the hospital with COVID-19 and 17 were in the intensive care unit.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Bucks County Department of Health recorded 833 new COVID-19 cases between Oct. 8 and Oct. 14, a decrease of 13 cases from the prior week's numbers.

The county's seven-day case average also decreased from the previous week to 158 new cases per day as of Friday. By metrics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the county’s community transmission level remains high.

Of the new cases, 131 are in children under 12, and 76 are in children between 12 and 18, according to the county health department.

As of Monday, 84 people with COVID-19 were being treated in Bucks County hospitals. At least 17 adults were in intensive care and seven were on ventilators.

More than 4,200 people received a COVID-19 vaccine in Bucks County last week. About 70 percent of the county’s eligible population 12 and older have received at least one dose of the vaccine, and 62 percent are fully vaccinated.
