NEW HOPE, PA — A historic house built in 1790 went up in flames early Wednesday morning. The vacant home had been listed at $1,200,000 and was marked as pending sale online.

The New Hope Eagle Volunteer Fire Company said a crew was dispatched to 6296 Stoney Hill Road, between Aquetong Road and Reeder Road, at 1:38 a.m. Upon arrival, the home had suffered "multiple interior collapses," the New Hope Eagle wrote online.

The building's entire roof had already been destroyed.

"Our team as well as firefighters from around the area quickly brought the fire under control, but due to the extreme danger, could not enter the building, so hot spots continue to burn this morning," the New Hope Eagle wrote online.

No one was injured since the house was unoccupied, and the fire company said there were no personal belongings being stored there.
