Learn New Details About Fatal Interstate 95 Crash

PA State Police said the pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on the highway in Bensalem last Thursday.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —A Bucks County man has been identified as the pedestrian struck and killed by a vehicle on Interstate 95 last Thursday.

The Pennsylvania State Police Troop M – Trevose Station - is investigating the fatal motor vehicle crash involving the pedestrian that occurred at 2:42 a.m. on April 17.

State Police identified the pedestrian as Herbert Tramel, 47, of Langhorne. He was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead an hour later by the Philadelphia Medical Examiner.

State Troopers responded to southbound Interstate 95, Mile Marker 37, Bensalem Township, for a pedestrian walking on the highway.

While responding, Troopers were advised that the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle driven by a 45-year-old man from Philadelphia.

The man driving the 2016 Ram 1500, stopped and rendered medical assistance until troopers arrived. He remained on the scene and cooperated with police.

Assisting at the scene were the Bensalem Township and Bristol Township police departments.
