School Board Member Gets ARD for Pot Possession
Underland's charges will be dismissed if she stays out of trouble.
member Sherri Underland, 42, was accepted into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) program following February charges of marijuana possession.
According to a story on PhillyBurbs.com, ARD is a pretrial program for first-time, nonviolent offenders, in which their record is cleared following a probationary period.
Police charged Underland after they received a tip and searched her home for drugs. They found a small amount of marijuana in a pill bottle in her bedroom. Underland’s husband and son were also charged.

In the story, Underland’s attorney, Keith Bidlingmaier, said she was “doing what is best for her entire family and saving them from taking the stand, decided to accept the ARD program.”
Bidlingmaier said Underland’s “family, friends and school board members have been tremendous in their support and understanding during this difficult time” and she is “happy this matter is over.”

Underland, who was elected in 2009, missed almost all her school board meetings since she was charged.
