Several Injured In I-95 Crashes; Drunk Runs Through Backlog
Highway closed for 40 minutes.

On March 16 just before 10 p.m., state police responded to back-to-back, multiple-vehicle accidents on I-95 southbound at milepost 33 and caught a drunk running on the highway an hour later.
The first accident involved three vehicles with one minor injury to a passenger. One driver had attempted to avoid striking a disabled vehicle that was partially blocking the right lane.
The second accident also involved three vehicles including one from the first accident. Two passengers from one vehicle were injured — one was transported to Hanahmann Hospital by Medic 12 and the other to Aria Torresdale by Bensalem Rescue 187.

The I-95 southbound lanes were closed for about 40 minutes due to the crash. Troopers Oliverio and Irwin investigated the crashes.
At 10:57 William Fisher, 32, of Bridgeport, N.J., was found running through the traffic backlog of the above crashes. Police said he was visibly intoxicated.

Fisher was taken into custody and issued a citation for public drunkenness. Trooper Craig Acord investigated the incident.
