State Disciplines Two Bucks Professionals

They were among 125 sanctioned last month.

The Pennsylvania Department of State Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs has taken disciplinary actions against 125 licensed or commissioned professionals and organizations since June including two individuals in Bucks County.

According to a release, the bureau’s 29 boards and commissions license and oversee more than 780,000 active professionals and businesses, including a range of occupations in health and business-related fields.

Violations of the law or state regulations may result in disciplinary actions of civil penalties and the suspension or revocation of a license.

Recent local sanctions included:

  • Board of Nursing: Michael James Garofalo, licensed, of Warminster, had his license placed on probation for at least three years, based on his having been convicted of three felonies.
  • Real Estate Commission: Gary Richard Klocek, licensed, of New Hope, was ordered to pay a $1,000 civil penalty and a reprimand was placed on his permanent disciplinary record with the Commission because he was convicted of a misdemeanor which relates to his qualifications for continued licensure and/or ability to practice real estate and failed to notify the Commission of being convicted of, or pleading guilty or nolo contendere to, a felony or misdemeanor, within thirty days of the verdict or pleas as required by the Real Estate Commission.
