Suspicious Death At Bensalem Home Under Investigation

A 70-year-old woman was found dead inside her Hunters Court South home over the weekend, authorities said.

BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — Authorities are investigating a suspicious death after the body of an elderly woman was removed from a township home over the weekend.

Bensalem Police responded on Saturday to the 5000 block of Hunters Court South for a well-being check, where a woman was found dead inside her home.

The woman was identified as Cynthia Bouffard, 70, of Bensalem, police said.

The Bensalem Township Police Department and the Bucks County District Attorney's Office are investigating the woman's death, which has been deemed suspicious.

Authorities said that Bouffard appeared to be emaciated and had been dead for some time in the living room. Bucks County Hazmat units were reported to be at the home.

The Bucks County Coroner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
