Take a Ride for Heroes on Saturday
This annual motorcycle run was established by the Bensalem Police Department Motor Patrol Unit to raise money for the Bucks County Chapter of the Heroes Scholarship Fund.

Attention local motorcyclists: you have a chance to take a ride for a good cause.
The 5th annual Ride for Heroes is taking place on Saturday, Oct. 15.
This is an annual motorcycle run was established by the Bensalem Police Department Motor Patrol Unit to raise money for the Bucks County Chapter of the Heroes Scholarship Fund, which provides financial and educational assistance to the surviving spouse and children, when a law enforcement officer, firefighter or emergency medical person is killed or disabled in the line of duty.

The ride has become increasingly popular each year since its inaugural run in 2007 when 131 riders participated. Last year over 550 bikers made the ride. The event has provided nearly $40,000 to the Bucks County Heroes Scholarship Fund in its first four years.
The Ride for Heroes is a police escorted poker-style run, which starts and ends, at the Bensalem Municipal Complex. The ride will cover approximately 65 miles through beautiful upper Bucks County, with one stop in Solebury.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m at the site or you can register online. The cost is $25 per rider and $15 per passenger. Rain date for the ride is Sunday, Oct. 16.
Event will feature:
- Continental style breakfast
- Music and giveaways during registration
- Light refreshments at our one and only stop along the route
- Lunch at the return from the Texas Roadhouse
- Prizes ranging from flat screen televisions to the most popular motorcycle cleaning products
- A 50/50 chance, which a participant walked away with over $750 at last year's event
