Teen Saves 2 Kids Who Fell Through Bucks Co. Lake
Cory Hemberger used his hockey stick to pull the children out of the freezing water of Yardley's Lake Afton after falling through thin ice.
BUCKS COUNTY, PA — High school sophomore Cory Hemberger, 16, is being hailed as a hero after he saved two children who fell through thin ice on Lake Afton in Yardley.
On Sunday, Hemberger and his friend Shawn were playing hockey on the lake when they saw a child fall through the ice.
According to Fox 29, Hemberger saw the 13-year-old boy fall through the ice while playing basketball. The boy's friend came over to help him and also fell through the ice.

Hemberger then came over and found a spot where the ice was thicker. He used his hockey stick to pull the two to safety. When asked by Fox 29 if he was afraid of falling in, he responded "Yeah, but I wasn't thinking about that at the moment."
Shawn's father called 911 while Cory rushed to the spot where the two fell in the lake. Paramedics arrived and found everyone to be safe. Shawn's father told Fox 29 they were about to leave when the incident happened.

"Makes me feel good because if I was in that situation, I would want someone to help me out," Cory told the Philadelphia news network.
