Whiz Kids: Bensalem High School Mock Trial Team

Amelia Ali, Andrew Arcangeli, Samantha Begelman, Jon Flanagan, Shane Flanagan, Rosemary Geraghty, Sara Gormley, Kim Kaelin, Hanna Martin, Boris Moglevich, Alex Mottershead, Anish Shah, Stephen Sklarow and Alyssa Winsom.

Accomplishment: On Feb. 14, the Bensalem High School Mock Trial Team defeated their township neighbors from Holy Ghost Prep in the District finals at the Doylestown Courthouse. 

That makes them the best of Bucks County for two consecutive years.

Their sponsors and mentors are teachers Kristen Egan and Jamie Rosenburg. Their attorney coaches from the Bucks County District Attorneys office are Steve Jones and Brian Scanlon. 

The Mock Trial competition is a situational trial based on a real life case. Each school must have six participants filling the roles of lawyers, advocates and witnesses. Every participating school in the state receives the same case and the same information to use in order to prepare for the case.

The school district wishes them the best as they compete against the top winners from other Pennsylvania Counties next month.
