Air Quality Poor Today for the Sensitive

State Department of Environmental Protection issues an air quality alert for the Lehigh Valley.

 

The first “air quality action alert” of the summer has been issued for today by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and the Air Quality Partnership of the Lehigh Valley/Berks Area.

The code orange alert means that levels of ozone and fine air particulates may be high enough to negatively affect sensitive people who spend any time outdoors.

Sensitive people include children, the elderly, asthmatics or anyone with heart or lung problems.

The National Weather Service is forecasting partly cloudy skies, a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon and a high of 90 degrees.
