Al Jarreau Coming to Musikfest Cafe

7-time Grammy winner scheduled to play on Sept. 29 at ArtsQuest Center. Tickets for that show, plus Sister Hazel, Hannibal Buress and Billy Bauer also go on sale today.

 

Seven-time Grammy Award winning jazz and rhythm & blues singer Al Jarreau is one of four performers recently announced to play shows at the Musikfest Café at the .

The famed singer is coming to the Musikfest Café on Sept. 29 for a 7:30 p.m. show. Jarreau rocketed to stardom in 1975 with his debut album We Got By, and has been one of the most recognizable voices in music ever since.

He has collaborated with artists such as Paul McCartney, Herbie Hancock and Jill Scott. He continues to tour extensively worldwide and is currently in studio working on a new album.

Tickets range from $54 to $69 and go on sale to ArtsQuest members at 10 a.m. this morning and will go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Friday. They will be available at www.artsquest.org and 610-332-3378.

Billy Bauer Band Tribute to Dave Matthews Band – Aug. 24, 8 p.m.

Tickets: $12 in advance; $15 at the doors

Founded in 2006, the Billy Bauer Band began as an acoustic duo before incorporating a solid rhythm section of percussion and bass. The group has entertained audiences throughout the region, both as a headliner and while opening for artists such as Uncle Kracker, Dispatch and O.A.R. On Aug. 24, the Bethlehem based-group will pay tribute to one of the nation’s most iconic and popular touring bands, the Grammy-winning Dave Matthews Band.

 

Sister Hazel – Sept. 7, 7:30 p.m.

Tickets: $22-$30

Hailing from Gainesville, Fla., Sister Hazel blends elements of folk, rock and pop to craft music full of intricate southern pop melodies and country rock harmonies. In 1997, the group struck gold with its hit, "All For You," which topped the Billboard Hot Adult Top 40 charts and reached the Top 10 of the alternative rock charts. Over the years, the band has sold more than 2 million albums and produced six Top 30 singles.

 

Hannibal Buress – Sept. 8, 8 p.m.

Tickets: $20 ($10 for students with ID)

Currently co-starring on The Eric Andre Show on Adult Swim, stand-up comedian Hannibal Buress’ comedy credentials include writing for Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock and performing on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the Late Late show with Craig Ferguson and other late-night TV shows. He has released two stand-up comedy albums and his Comedy Central special, Hannibal Buress: Animal Furnace, debuted this past May.
