Armless Guitar Player to Make Musikfest Debut
George Dennehy gained wide attention for a You Tube video of him playing guitar with his feet. Tonight, he will join Goo Goo Dolls on the Sands Steel Stage.

George Dennehy may be just one of the more than 500 performers appearing at Musikfest this week, but the guitarist is far from just another performer.
Born without arms, the Virginia resident gained worldwide attention recently after posting an online video of himself covering the Goo Goo Dolls’ Iris while playing the guitar with his feet. The Goo Goo Dolls then invited Dennehy to open for them during their show at Musikfest’s Sands Steel Stage, as well as join them onstage for Iris.

In addition to the Goo Goo Dolls show, Dennehy will perform a short set at Musikfest’s TD Bank Community Stage at the .
The performance will take place at 1 p.m. Aug. 7.

Tickets for the Goo Goo Dolls show are still available at $49 and $34. The show is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
The 2012 winner of the Virginia-based “Richmond’s Got Talent,” Dennehy was adopted by his U.S. family at the age of 1 and started playing the cello at age 8. He is the only known person in the world who can play classical string music with his feet, and he also plays electric bass and piano.
