Woman Goes to Prison for Having Sex with a Teenager

A Bethlehem Woman who had sex with a 15-year-old boy four times was given an eight-month to two-year prison term Friday, according to The Morning Call.

The report states that Northampton County Judge Anthony Beltrami said he treated her as if she were a man. Barbarics, a mother of three, pleaded guilty in March to having sex with the boy in 2009.

The article states that the boy’s family moved out of the area because of the treatment he received from his friends after the incident. Family and supporters of Barbarics, including her husband, spoke to the court, describing her as a good mother.

After her sentence for statutory sexual assault, Barbarics will also serve five years probation, according to the story.
