Fire Displaces Allentown Family
Blaze at 329 N. 10th started in kitchen, homeowner said
An Allentown family was displaced Sunday morning by what was described as a fast-moving smoky fire at 329 N. 1oth St.
Homeowner Keith Mertz and his family were attending church services at when the fire alarm was received by Allentown Fire Dept. officials at approximately 9:45 a.m.
Windows on both stories of the dwelling were broken and firefighters continued to pick and sift through the home more than an hour after the initial call.

Mertz said fire department officials informed him that the blaze started in the kitchen and quickly moved to the second floor. Mertz said firefighters informed him the dwelling incurred a significant amount of smoke damage.
Fire officials on the scene declined to speak with Patch concerning the cause of the blaze.

No injuries were reported.
Mertz said he and his family will stay in another home or with neighbors tonight
