Freedom Student Accused of Packing Gun Seeks ARD

A Freedom High School student who was removed from a classroom in April after he was allegedly found to have a pellet gun and marijuana in his backpack waived his right to a preliminary hearing on Thursday.

Khalid R. Webb, 18, is hoping to enroll in a first-time offenders program, according to The Express Times. If he successfully completes the accelerated rehabilitative disposition program, Webb could see his record wiped clean.

, Webb told that he had slept the previous night under a bridge overpass in Allentown. The arrest paperwork had a Santee Road address that was crossed out and replaced with the word “homeless.”

According to court documents, Webb was removed from a Freedom classroom on April 3, 25 tense minutes after police received an anonymous telephone tip that he had gone to school with a gun in his backpack.

While searching through Webb’s backpack, police allegedly found a pellet gun that is manufactured to look exactly like a Walther PPK pistol, a type of gun favored by many European police detectives and fictional British spy James Bond.

Court papers also allege that Webb had marijuana and some drug paraphernalia.

Webb was expelled from and he now lives with grandparents in Allentown, the newspaper reported.
