Funeral for City Police Officer in N.J. Today
Services for Frank A. Rossnagle, who committed suicide on Sunday, will be held in Phillipsburg, N.J. this morning.

A Bethlehem police officer who committed suicide on Sunday will be laid to rest today after a funeral in Phillipsburg, N.J.
Funeral services for Frank A. Rossnagle will be held at 10 a.m. in the Doyle-Devlin Funeral Home, Inc., 695 Corliss Ave., Phillipsburg, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. in Ss. Philip and James Catholic Church, 430 S. Main St., Phillipsburg.

Bethlehem police officers had planned to be a part of the service, according to Police Chief Jason Schiffer.
Rossnagle, 51, had been a member of the Bethlehem Police Department since 1997. Most recently, he was the property/evidence officer and had previously served in the Criminal Investigations Division.

Before joining the , Rossnagle worked for the Washington Township Police Department in his native New Jersey, where he had been promoted to sergeant and was instrumental in starting the department’s K-9 Unit, according to the obituary on the Doyle-Devlin Funeral Home Website.
His wife, two sons, a daughter, a brother, four sisters, four grandchildren and one great-grandson survive Rossnagle.
