Recall issued for potential E. coli-contaminated beef in Pennsylvania (lehighvalleynews.com) — Bethlehem residents should check their freezers for Forward Farms Grass-Fed Ground Beef, as a nationwide recall includes products sold in Pennsylvania and possibly at Weis Markets. Federal inspectors found E. coli O26 contamination in some 16-ounce packages, and officials urge anyone with the affected beef to throw it away or return it, and to contact a doctor if they develop severe diarrhea or vomiting.

One resident thinks so (mcall.com) — Bethlehem resident Kathy Perlow is working to revive a Lehigh Valley timebank that once connected neighbors to exchange services using hours instead of money, and she’s looking for local help to run it. 'Very unique': Lehigh Valley band director reflects on experience performing in Rose Parade (wfmz.com) — A Bethlehem-based Nitschman Middle School band director is sharing what it was like to march in the Rose Parade as one of 350 music educators from across North and Central America. He hopes his high-profile performances, including past appearances at Macy’s and the Rose Parade, will inspire Bethlehem students to see how music can open doors far beyond the Lehigh Valley.

Retail chain set to vacate Trainer's Corner shopping center (wfmz.com) — Bethlehem gamers have already felt GameStop’s pullback, with the chain’s local store there among several Lehigh Valley locations that have closed in recent years. Now the Richland Township GameStop in Trainer’s Corner will shut its doors Jan. 7, citing a lease dispute, with customers directed to Lansdale and other nearby stores for future purchases.
