Blasting operations to begin for warehouse project Bethlehem Township opposed (lehighvalleylive.com) — Blasting for a massive new warehouse at 1600 Freemansburg Avenue will begin Jan. 5, bringing loud noises and vibrations to nearby Bethlehem Township and Freemansburg neighborhoods. Despite township opposition over traffic, a court cleared the 866,350-square-foot project to move forward, and officials say all blasting will be closely monitored and follow strict safety regulations.

Swimming and diving notebook: Freedom junior jumps off snowboard and into the pool (lehighvalleylive.com) — A Freedom High School junior from Bethlehem Township has traded a nationally ranked snowboarding career for distance swimming, already qualifying for districts and eyeing school relay records. Training at the Bethlehem Community Center and local clubs, he’s quickly improving while other Lehigh Valley programs, including Parkland and Emmaus, post record-breaking performances in recent meets.

New Year's babies 2026: Local hospitals welcome Lehigh Valley newborns (lehighvalleylive.com) — Bethlehem families rang in 2026 with new arrivals at local hospitals, including baby Elliana Tola Olowoyo born just after midnight at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Muhlenberg. St. Luke’s Anderson Campus in Bethlehem Township also welcomed its first baby of the year, alongside another New Year’s newborn at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest in Salisbury Township.

Bicyclist struck and killed by vehicle on MacArthur Road, coroner says (lehighvalleynews.com) — A deadly bicycle–vehicle crash on MacArthur Road in Whitehall Township left an adult man dead Wednesday afternoon, drawing investigations from local police and county authorities. While the incident occurred outside Bethlehem, it’s part of the broader Lehigh Valley traffic picture that affects many residents who regularly travel MacArthur Road and nearby corridors.
