St. Luke's Anderson Adds In-Patient Beds, Expands ER

In two expansions, the hospital has spent $10 million to more than double the size of its emergency department and add 36 in-patient beds.

The new St. Luke’s University Hospital—Anderson Campus has completed its second expansion since opening in Bethlehem Township less than two years ago, according to published reports.

The hospital added 36 new inpatient beds, expanding into what had been an unused fourth floor, while also adding eight new emergency department rooms, according to The Express-Times.

The Anderson Campus had added new emergency rooms in April, which combined with the most recent expansion opened Monday brings the total number of emergency rooms to 32—more than double what the hospital had when it opened in November 2011, the newspaper reported.
