Wild Animals at the Library, Emo Music at the Cafe

There is heavy rain in the forecast, but they're celebrating Christmas in July at Traditions of Hanover.

The Lehigh University campus is looking a little empty this week. The Philadelphia Eagles opened training camp Monday, but not in Bethlehem.

And if you check out the team’s Website, it looks like there is a lot less access for the fans in South Philly than there was here, with some practices only open to season ticket holders.

So are you feeling snubbed, Bethlehem? How about the rest of you in Eagles Nation?

Let’s see what is happening in the Christmas City today.

  1. The wet weather will continue. Heavy rain is in the forecast for much of the day with a projected high of 84 degrees. There is a silver lining on these clouds, though. The rest of the workweek looks great, with sunny skies and highs in the low 80s.
  2. If you have a small business and are interested in becoming a federal vending contractor, attend this free workshop at the Fowler Family SouthSide Center to learn how to register. Bring your laptop computer if you have one.
  3. Stop in at Traditions of Hanover Independent Living for a Christmas in July Craft and Jewelry Sale. The event from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. is free and open to the public.
  4. It’s Family Fun Night at the Bethlehem Area Public Library. Take the kids to see a live presentation on wild animals from 7 to 7:45 p.m. Parking is available in the garage beneath the library.
  5. Emo music pioneer Andrew McMahon—best known for his turns as lead singer for Something Corporate and Jack’s Mannequin—performs at the Musikfest Café at 8 p.m. Tickets at $27.50 and $25 are still available.
