Berks Organizations Included in PA Historical & Museum Commission Grants (bctv.org) — Boyertown’s Museum of Historic Vehicles has been awarded $30,000, and the Colebrookdale Railroad Preservation Trust will receive $40,000 through new state cultural and historical support grants. These funds, part of nearly $4 million statewide, will help sustain local museums’ operations and preserve regional history that Boyertown residents enjoy and rely on for tourism and education.

Berks food safety inspections found 23 violations at restaurant, including excessive old food debris,trash (readingeagle.com) — Recent Berks County food safety inspections turned up several violations at Boyertown spots including Antonio’s Trattoria, Jukebox Cafe, Barrel & Ale, and The Salvation Army kitchen, mostly for cleanliness and food-handling issues. All remain open while they correct problems, and many other nearby restaurants and stores passed with few or no violations.

CoBL Area Roundup (Dec. 16): Imhotep takes down Judge; Tennent's Kocur tallies 1,000th point (cityofbasketballlove.com) — Boyertown High’s girls basketball team jumped out to a 14-8 lead before Methacton stormed back to win 56-36, despite 22 points from Boyertown’s Chloe Engler. The roundup also highlights standout performances and milestones from other high school teams across the region.

4. Montgomery County Community College police academy celebrates 37 graduates (pottsmerc.com subscription) — A new police academy graduate from Boyertown, Michael W. Pinto, is among 37 cadets who just completed Montgomery County Community College’s rigorous Municipal Police Academy program. The ceremony in Blue Bell highlighted the 919-hour training, multiple awards for standout cadets, and the next steps many graduates will take with local departments and the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office.
