3 Gladwyne Burglaries Last Week, Police Say

Homes on Woodmont Road, Gingko Lane and Spring Mill Road were targeted.

Lower Merion police on Tuesday reported three Gladwyne burglaries in the past week:

Monday, Feb. 4, between 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., on the 1100 block of Woodmont Road: The resident returned home from running errands to find front and rear doors standing open. Police determined the rear door, a sliding door into the kitchen, had been left unlocked. The items taken were worth about $17,000 combined, including a $6,000 watch, a $1,000 class ring, vintage jewelry, leather purses and an iPad, police said.

Between 11 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, and 1 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, on the 1100 block of Gingko Lane: Someone forced open the front door, “shouldering” it, police said. A $300 mahogany jewelry box was taken, and the burglar exited through a rear door.

Friday, Feb. 8, between 7:50 a.m. and 5:10 p.m., on the 1400 block of Spring Mill Road: Police determined the burglar entered through an unlocked back door. A $50 pair of earrings was taken.
