Bryn Mawr Walgreens Closes

The Bryn Mawr closed at the end of the day Tuesday, May 31, Walgreens officials confirmed Wednesday.

When reached by phone last Friday, an employee of the 720 W. Lancaster Avenue store location said the closing was a corporate decision and directed comment to corporate headquarters.

“It wasn’t a viable location for us,” said Walgreens spokesman Robert Elfinger.

Elfinger said prescriptions were transferred to the Bryn Mawr , 705 W. Lancaster Ave., because it was the closest, most convenient option for patients. He added those prescriptions were made available there by Tuesday morning.

The Bryn Mawr closing was not part of a larger number of Walgreens stores closing, Elfinger said, adding he had not heard any feedback from the community regarding the closing.
