ER Visitor Becomes Theft Victim, Police Say

Also reported Tuesday: three men face citations for late-night fireworks.

On Tuesday afternoon,  reported to news media the following incidents from the past week in Bryn Mawr and Gladwyne:

Theft: A wallet was stolen Aug. 21 from a person visiting an injured relative at the emergency room, Lower Merion police said. The theft victim's husband noticed Aug. 28 that there were unusual credit card charges from Delaware, including $600 at a TJ Maxx and $200 at a PetSmart. No suspect was seen or heard, police said.

Disorderly conduct: Three men were cited when, police said, they were caught setting off fireworks from Bryn Mawr Court apartments about 4 a.m. Aug. 29. Two of the men were 21; the third, a 20-year-old, was also cited for underage drinking. At least two of the men were Villanova students, police said.

Theft: A customer of in Rosemont had her purse stolen from a bench in front of the store between 10:15 and 10:45 p.m. Aug. 29. The purse contained a MacBook Pro worth about $1,300, as well as credit cards, bank cards and $40 in cash, police said.

Public intoxication: An 18-year-old Villanova student was cited for public intoxication and underage drinking about 3:45 a.m. Aug. 31, police said. The man was found lying in the grass at Foxglove Lane and Lancaster Avenue.
