Green Bean to Close for a Week, Reopen Sept. 1

The shop will reopen with new fall hours.

in Gladwyne will be closed Thursday, Aug. 25 through Wednesday, Aug. 31 for “refreshments and improvements.”

Owner-managers Tammin Kim and Brian Storey are taking the week to clear their heads and revamp, Kim said.

“We’re going to take a week off to brainstorm, refresh, sharpen up, and we’ll be back when school starts,” Kim said, adding there are no physical renovations planned.

They’ll be creating a new seasonal menu for fall and some more prepared “grab-and-go” foods, with students and busy families in mind, Kim said.

Kim said they have been lucky to have celebrated their one-year anniversary in mid-June and want to give back to the patrons who have supported them.

Green Bean will have new fall hours when they reopen Sept. 1: from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Kim said. 

Kim said they’re also tossing around a few ideas, including the possibility of once-a-week dinners and more comfortable furniture, though they are somewhat limited by space.

“We’re always trying to improve,” Kim said.
