Macy's Closing Suburban Square Store in Ardmore

The department store decided not to renew its lease at the Montgomery Avenue shopping center.

The largest store at the Suburban Square shopping center in Ardmore will be vacant early next year, according to NBC-10.

Macy’s Department Stores has announced it has terminated the lease for its 99,725 square-foot, three floor location at the shopping center on Montgomery Avenue and will close the store in early 2016.

No reason has been given for the closure, but a spokesperson told the Philadelphia Business Journal that the store will remain open for business for the rest of 2015 until a final clearance sale next year.
