Pa. Unemployment Rate Falls to 5.1%
The unemployment rate is the lowest it has been in more than six years, the commonwealth said.

Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate in November fell to 5.1 percent, the lowest it has been in more than six years, the Department of Labor and Industry announced Friday.
The state unemployment rate in October was 5.4 percent.
By comparison, the federal unemployment rate in November was 5.8 percent.

In addition to being lower, Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate is shrinking at a faster pace than the federal rate. “The commonwealth’s rate was down by 1.8 percentage points from last November while the national rate declined by 1.2 points over the year,” the Department of Labor and Industry said in a statement.
