Car Catches Fire After New Year's Eve I-76 Crash: Gladwyne Fire Co
Gladwyne firefighters, Belmont Hills Fire Company, George Clay firefighters, and Narberth Ambulance all responded to the crash and fire.

Just after 5 p.m. on New Year's Eve, Gladwyne Firefighters along with Belmont Hills Fire Company, George Clay Firefighters and Narberth Ambulance were dispatched to the Eastbound Schuylkill Expressway for an accident with injuries and a vehicle fire.
Upon arrival of Chief 24 there was a well involved vehicle that was involved in an accident. All occupants were out of the vehicle and on the side of the highway. PSP and Narberth Ambulance were attending to the injured.

Squad 39 and Engine 24 arrived and deployed hose lines to extinguish the fire. Due to the positioning of the accident scene, the Eastbound lanes were closed down while our first responders were putting out the fire and attending to the injured.
Rescue 22 came upon a 2nd accident on the highway while responding to this incident. Once they cleared, they joined Squad 39 and Engine 24’s crews to assist in getting the highway back open.

All units were clear of the scene in just under one hour.
