PECO 'Enhancing' Natural Gas Distribution in Lower Merion

The company says it is investing more than $10 million in its Lower Merion distribution system.

PECO “is investing more than $10 million to enhance the local natural gas distribution system to benefit customers in Lower Merion Township,” the company said Wednesday.

The projects are among efforts to modernize the company’s natural gas system, PECO said.

“We continuously review our natural gas distribution system to identify opportunities to further improve service and enhance safety,” said Ron Bradley, vice president of Gas Operations. “This work ensures we can continue to provide safe, reliable natural gas service to our customers.”

Crews will be working in the following areas, PECO says:

  • Phase 1 (January – July) Haverford and Bryn Mawr
  • Phase 2 (March – November) Ardmore
  • Phase 3 (March – May) Bryn Mawr
  • Phase 4 (July – November) Rosemont
  • Phases 5 and 6 (May – October) Ardmore, Bryn Mawr, Bala Cynwyd

PECO serves about 170,000 natural gas customers in Montgomery County, the company said.
