Philly Mag: Bryn Mawr Pizza Places Rank High in 'Best Crust' Category

Pizza Palace and Conestoga Style Pizza earned honors for their crust.

Philadelphia Magazine named their 50 favorite pizza joints (out of 500) in the city and in the suburbs, and two Bryn Mawr eateries made the list for best crust.

, 602 Lancaster Ave., and , 905 Conestoga Road, earned praise for their thick Greek-style crust.

Both eateries have seen some added business because of the Philly Mag article.

"About three days ago, [the article] came out, and people are raving about it," said Bia Xinos, manager of Pizza Palace. "Existing customers, new customers are coming in—it's really great.

"To be in the top 10 percent... it's pretty cool, it's pretty amazing," Xinos added. "But there's a lot of work."

Xinos said they found out about the article about a month ago, when Philly Mag called to come and take photos. Paul Lalos, owner/manager of Conestoga Style Pizza, said one of their loyal customers told him about the article.

"We've had new customers come in because of it," Lalos said. "It helps with the economy, you know? They all tested it, and everything was great, they said."

The other categories considered were best toppings, best sauce, best dine-in and best by the slice. Philly Mag also mapped the pizza places.
