'Significant Financial Hurdles' Force Main Line Health To Reduce Staff
A spokesperson said Main Line Health is reducing its staff by 1.5 percent, less than 200 people, amid "significant financial hurdles."
BRYN MAWR, PA — Main Line Health said it is planning to let go a portion of its staff.
A spokesperson said the healthcare group is planning to reduce the size of its workforce by 1.5 percent.
The representative set that figure amounts to fewer than 200 people.

"We have made the very difficult decision to make structural changes that are primarily focused on updating our management structure," a statement from Main Line Health reads. "We are providing comprehensive transition support to help those leaving the organization."
Officials said Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement rates have not kept pace with costs, thus creating "significant financial hurdles" for the healthcare system.

While there will be a reduction in staffing, officials said Main Line Health's "ability to provide safe, high quality and equitable care" for patients will not be impacted.
"Moving forward, our primary focus will be hiring more clinicians, increasing our ambulatory services, enhancing the patient experience and improving access for all in our community," the statement concludes.
It's unclear what Main Line Health facilities will be impacted by the staff reduction.
