Township Appoints New Chief Technology Officer
The appointment of James Weiman was unanimously confirmed Wednesday night by the Township Board of Commissioners.

Lower Merion Township has appointed a new Chief Technology Officer, Township Manager Ernie McNeely announced Wednesday.
The appointment of James Weiman was unanimously confirmed Wednesday night by the Township Board of Commissioners.
Weiman most recently worked for Bucks County as an applications and development manager and business analyst, the township said.

“There were many qualified applicants for this important position, but we feel that in Jim we have a seasoned pro with solid experience in local government and a firm handle on high-end financial management,” McNeely said. “His proven leadership skills will be important to Lower Merion as we take on key technological initiatives and challenges in the coming years.”
Weiman “will be responsible for the strategic visioning, implementation, and operational oversight of all Township information technology (IT) systems and staff,” the township said.

Weiman is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University. He will report directly to McNeely, and his first day will be Feb. 2.
