TRAVEL ALERT: Speed Limits Reduced on Area Roadways
Motorists are urged to avoid unnecessary travel.

The speed limit has been lowered on a number of area roads as snow, sleet and slush make for a slippery Tuesday evening commute.
“PennDOT is urging motorists to avoid unnecessary travel,” the transit agency said Tuesday evening.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has reduced the speed limit to 45 mph on the following area roadways:

- Interstates 76, 95, 476, 676
- U.S. Routes 1, 30, 202, 422
- State Routes 63, 100 Spur and 309.
Snow, sleet and freezing rain are expected to cause travel problems Tuesday afternoon and night, according to the National Weather Service.
