Video: Trailer For Shipley Grad's Film 'Backwards'
"Backwards" is an indie drama that Shipley alum Sarah Megan Thomas wrote, produced, and co-stars in.
Remember last summer when there were in town? Those scenes, shot at the , the Haverford Train Station and other local sites, form part of the backdrop for .
The film, which 1997 Shipley graduate Thomas wrote, produced, and co-starred in, centers on the life of a female rower (Thomas) who has just failed to make the Olympic team and becomes a girls' high school coach.
The film was directed by former manager and Haverford College graduate Ben Hickernell, who Thomas tapped to helm the project after she saw a screening of his 2010 directorial debut, Lebanon, Pa.

Dawson’s Creek star James Van Der Beek stars as Thomas's love interest, and the film also stars Margaret Colin of Gossip Girl, Wynn Everett, and Sideways supporting actress Alysia Reiner.
Aside from the Lower Merion locales, the film also features the Philadelphia Museum of Art and Boathouse Row as backdrops.
