As New York Yankee Yogi Berra once famously said, ”It’s like déjà vu all over again!”

They must have felt that the field was still covered by snow as the Big Macs buried the Knoch Knights in an avalanche of goals in a totally dominating 17-2 victory.

Canon-McMillan came out with a flurry of 21 shots in the first quarter, scoring on 10 of them as they blanketed the Knoch defensive zone with a dodging and weaving attack that was not only productive when it came to scoring, but demonstrated an abundance of teamwork and patience for a team that has only one senior on its roster. There were assists awarded on nine of the Big Mac goals, proof of the great ball movement employed all evening long. The Big Macs were all over the field; beating Knoch to loose balls, shoveling up 50 ground balls for the contest.
Canon-McMillan’s attack was led by Connor Neimeyer’s four goals and four assists, Nick Carr’s four goals and one assist, and three goals each by Ben Ward and Zach Moore. Richie Leeds and Josh Minor also contributed with two and one goal, respectively and Jonathan Balog provided strong defense with five caused turnovers.

While goal scoring often gets the most attention in lacrosse, the best performance of the night may well have been the effort of one of the Big Mac’s juniors, Evan Crompton. Crompton dominated the face-off circle by winning 84 percent (16 of 19) of the face-offs he took. In addition, he contributed by assisting on three Big Mac goals.
The win takes the Big Macs record to 4-0 and will host Norwin on Monday, April 8.
