Cecil Man Jailed for Sex Assault, Statutory Sex Assault Charges

A Cecil Township man is in Washington County Jail on charges that include sexual assault, statutory sexual assault and indecent assault of a person younger than 16.

Online court records show that Eric Smith, 44, was also charged by Cecil Township police with false imprisonment and corruption of minors—and was arraigned Tuesday before district Judge Valerie Costanzo, who remanded him to jail on $250,000 bond.

While Cecil Township police could not immediately be reached for more details, the Observer-Reporter indicates the charges involve a 13-year-old boy.

Smith is scheduled to appear before Costanzo on Dec. 28.
