Grief and Loss Bereavement Seminar
“When Mourning Dawns…” is a six-week bereavement seminar. It will be held in two locations: Canonsburg General Hospital (North Wing) from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. or Outpatient Care Center-Peters Township from 6:30 p.m. 8 p.m. To register, call 724-745-6100, ext. 4118.

Diabetic Education Classes
Sessions to assist the diabetic and family or friends in understanding and managing the disease with diet, exercise, medications and insulin pumps will be held from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Outpatient Care Center—Peters Township. You may attend one or all of the sessions. For more information about the topics in the series or to register, call 1-877-284-2000.

AARP Drivers Safety Refresher Course
Participants must be 55 or older and have previously completed the AARP driver safety program, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., McNary Conference Center. The fee is $12 per person (AARP member) or $14 per person (non-AARP member). To register, call 1-877-284-2000.
Sept. 15
Satchels of Caring
Join this non-profit group as it creates handmade satchels filled with therapeutic items to nurture and support patients undergoing chemotherapy. It will be held in the Conference Room at the Outpatient Care Center-Peters Township from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Sept. 19, 20
Books Are Fun
There will be a wide assortment of books and novelties for everyone. This event will be held in the main lobby of Canonsburg General Hospital from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Sept. 21
Blood Drive (All participants are eligible to win prizes and gift cards)
Did you know only 5 percent of eligible donors across the nation donate blood, but the number of transfusions increases every year by 9 percent? Did you also know that statistics show 25 percent or more of us will require blood at least once in our lifetime? Please take time to schedule your life-saving appointment by calling or emailing Patty Toner 724-873-5835 or ptoner@wpahs.org. The blood drive will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at McNary Conference Center.
Sept. 28
Grief and Loss Support Dinner
Rev. Cathy Peternel will host a dinner for those who have suffered the loss of a loved one at 6 p.m. in the McNary Conference Center. The dinner is open to the public and the cost of the meal is $6.50. Reservations must be made by Sept. 21 and can be achieved by calling 724-745-6100, ext. 4118.
